About Us

The Abor Nwunekaihe Foundation. What we are.

Abor Nwunekaihe Development Foundation (ANKDF) is an organisation set up to harness various capacities, resources, influence, knowledge and abilities of sons, daughters and friends of Abor both at home and in diaspora towards meaningful and effective development of Abor Town.

It has come to our realization that everyone should be encouraged to be ready to pull resources together and progressively pursue the development of ABOR Town. In this way, the Town will begin to position itself and its Citizens into an enviable height; and within a short span of time be reckoned among the notable Towns in Enugu State.

The Foundation shall be operated exclusively as a non-profit, tax exempt organization dedicated for the upliftment and development of Abor.

In the past few years, there has been conversations amongst some of us on how best to organize ourselves better to advance the unity and development of our town. The discussion gathered steam mid 2019 which culminated to our meeting of December 2019 when it was convenient for most of us.

To the glory of God, Abor Nwunekaihe has successfully brought together great men and women of Abor to discuss and interact on issues towards moving the community along the path of Growth and Development and the credit goes to every member of Abor Nwunekaihe.

Our Vision

The vision of Abor Nwunekaihe is to place Abor in the topmost echelon of the most functional, developed and empowered communities in Enugu State.

Our Objectives

Our objectives are primarily hinged on three cardinal points.

Our Journey so far as a group.

We began by choosing an indigenous name, “Nwunne-kaihe” through a selective and voting process. A name we felt has mass appeal and would resonate with our people.

We identified different areas of development and constituted committees for same. Each committee was tasked to research, evaluate and assess every aspect of our developmental needs, group them under short, medium and long term bases with its attendant cost of execution.

Consequently, these committees have rigorously brainstormed and came up with a landmark report in areas of Health, Education, Infrastructure & Security, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Legal/Conflict Resolution, Sports and Culture, Information & Mobilization and Finance.

Note that projects go through an Evaluation before execution by the Monitoring & Implementation Committee and Due Process Board. As a rule, all projects to be executed must be presented to the Assembly by the Implementation Committee. Public spirited Individuals, families, organizations, groups are encouraged to pick and sponsor these projects, and as well invite their friends to sponsor and contribute to the projects which can be named after them.

We integrate our Diaspora children towards knowing themselves so as to identify with us and begin to give back to our community. On the other hand, we equally organize the youths in Nigeria so that they can begin to interact and gradually imbibe the ideals of Nwunneki’he and community Development. These are part of our succession plans and the design to groom them for successive leadership

We are also strategizing on how best to involve and strengthen our women towards being part of our development processes.

The organization has so far delivered the following activities, programmes and projects in the 2020 fiscal year:
