Passing the Torch: Abor Nwunekaihe Foundation Coordinator Transition Committee Update

Hello Umunem,

With a heartfelt farewell and a hopeful glance to the future, our Coordinator has officially set the stage for a transition of leadership within the Abor Nwunekaihe Foundation. Last year, after four years at the helm, he announced his intent to step down, making room for new ideas and youthful energy. However, with encouragement from the community, he graciously agreed to stay on through 2024 to ensure stability and a smooth handover to an incoming leader.

As we approach the end of the year, it’s time to lay the groundwork for a seamless transition. Enter the newly established Coordinator’s Handover Transition Committee—a team dedicated to making this process as smooth as possible. Here’s who’s stepping up to the plate:

  1. Dr. Nath Illediagu – Chairman
  2. Barrister Walter Chinonso Ugwuozor – Secretary
  3. Prof. Eva Obodo
  4. Sylvia Egbuji
  5. Ejike Okolo (Ezebunugwu)
  6. Barr. Mrs. Ngozi Ugwu
  7. Nestor-Crush Onodingene
  8. Chibuzor Udeh
  9. Tony Ozornwafor
  10. Barr. Obiora Ngwu

The Committee’s Mission

The team has set out with specific tasks to ensure our Foundation continues to flourish under new leadership:

  1. Finalizing Our Constitution
To build on our Foundation’s strong values and policies, the committee will address any remaining constitutional matters.
  2. Introducing the New Coordinator
Once selected, our new Coordinator will be formally presented with all the essential documents for success. This ensures they have the tools and guidance needed to carry the torch forward.
  3. Planning the Handover Ceremony
In partnership with the Executive Committee and stakeholders, the committee will arrange an official ceremony, a day to welcome our new leader with open arms and celebrate the journey so far.
  4. Establishing Election Protocols
To create a solid foundation for future leadership transitions, the committee is setting up guidelines for elections and nominations, ensuring our Foundation’s growth remains steady and in line with community values.
  5. Financial Review and Transparency
Working closely with our Finance Committee and external auditors, the committee will provide the incoming Coordinator with a complete financial report, offering transparency and insight into the Foundation’s financial standing.
  6. Ensuring a Smooth Transition
The committee is ready to address any other issues that may arise, prioritizing a smooth and successful leadership handover.

As we prepare for this new chapter, we are filled with gratitude for the dedication and achievements of our current Coordinator, and we eagerly anticipate the new energy that lies ahead. Thank you, Umunem, for your support and encouragement throughout this journey.

Long live Abor! Long live Abor Nwunekaihe Foundation!
